Preliminary
round
Teams will be split into 2 divisions for each case presentation (Room A1, Room A2, Room B1 and Room B2). Half of the teams will present Case A first followed by Case B, while the other half present Case B first followed by Case A.
Teams will be given 12 minutes to present, followed by an 8-minute Q&A session. 2 of the best teams in each division will proceed to the final round.
Teams will draw their slots and divisions at the opening ceremony on Wednesday 25th May 2017.
FINAL
round
4 finalists from Case A and 4 finalists from Case B will present their analysis and recommendations to a new panel of judges.
Teams will be given 12 minutes to present, followed by a 12-minute Q&A session.
The team that earns the highest ranking among all judges will be the winner of that particular case.
There will be 2 grand prizes for the entire CIBCC 2017.
Case A
All teams will be given 8 hours to prepare for Case A.
Teams will receive the case at 08.30 on Thursday 25th May 2017, and must hand in their slides and 1 page executive summary before 16.30 on the same date along with a .pdf copy of their presentation.
Case B
All teams will be given 24 hours to prepare for Case B.
Teams will receive the case at 08.30 on Friday 26th May 2017 and must hand in their slides and 1 page executive summary before 08.30 on Saturday 27th May 2017 along with a .pdf copy of their presentation.
No modifications to the presentation or executive summary are allowed after hand-in. Additional activities related to case solving, i.e. Q&A with personnel from the case company, will be contained within the 24 hours allocated to case solving.
Each team is allowed to bring an unlimited number of textbooks, reference material items and computers. Reference material items are defined as any form of notes, compendiums/readers, collections of articles and the like.
Teams are not allowed to discuss the case, their own presentation or others, with anyone outside the team during the competition. The team does NOT include the faculty advisor, faculty host or the team ambassador.
The main deck of presentation slides must be no more than 30 slides (including cover slide) with maximum 100 slides for the whole deck.
